Lives and works in Lisbon.
She studied communication design at the University of Lisbon, painting at Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice
and video at the Ar.Co School of Visual Art.
Her professional activity began in Italy (Milan and Venice), where she worked as a graphic designer and an illustrator.
As the art director of westzone publishing she developed several editorial projects with contemporary artists including
Nan Goldin, Richard Serra, Dennis Hopper, Wolfgang Laib and Brice Marden.
Returning to Lisbon in 2001, she has since concentrated on her personal art. Salomé Nascimento's body of work
encompasses painting, encaustic, photography, video and installations. She is an existential artist translating
the world through her own experience. Her work is the result of the search for her own identity and her
relationship to the world, and critically addresses the concepts of observer, relative reality and conscious universe.
In parallel with her own work she currently manages the ME108 space (studios, events and workshops).
